Yoga practitioner Angela Gervan:Ange offers a gentle teaching style that facilitates a safe space for all to experience and connect with conscious and considered movement with breath. Her sessions will leave you feeling relaxed, inspired and revived!
She specializes in delivering effective movement and meditative breath inquiry programmes to both small and large audiences, making the principals of such practice accessible to all and relative to your daily life. Offering over 15 years experience from her own consistent yoga practice and wellness inquiry, studying and sharing yoga in Tokyo, Beijing, Cambodia, Vancouver, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington, Ange also offers unique insight from her Health Science background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture. Ange came into her deepest connection with the profound healing benefits of yoga, meditation and awareness of Qi (energy in the body) while living in Japan, China and traveling Asia for almost 6 years. Yoga has helped her manage asthma, recover from a car accident, complete Tokyo marathon and on a deeper level, find balance between movement and stillness, will and surrender and simply understand her bodies energetic system. She completed her advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher training in Vancouver (2005) with Donna Farhi, having since further studied and assisted Donna in Austin, Texas and Auckland, NZ. She has also contributed to teacher training manual for London Yin Yoga teacher, Simon Low and offers the yoga relaxation program on Dr. Libby's Beautiful You retreats. More recently, the restorative aspects of her yoga practice have supported her through pregnancy, natural labor, post natal recovery and the journey of motherhood. She facilitates her sessions from a place of empathy, experience and well educated expertise. “Yoga is an occasion to renew and restore energy, a celebration of breath and movement in unity,” says Angela. During the year of the '08 Olympics, Angie taught Yoga full time at International studio Yoga Yard in Beijing. She also has a Bachelors Degree in Communications, has worked at Walt Disney World in Florida, as an Elementary teacher in Tokyo, helped fund-raise for a grassroots organisation PEPY in Cambodia and been a facilitator for the global youth leadership program, JUMP in Shanghai. Practicing Yoga has supported her to grow and inspire others through these experiences. She is passionate about helping people connect with themselves, their community and inspiring health and well-being in an accessible way. Angie is a practitioner at Qi Acupuncture, the creator of Hara Hug™ and an alumni ambassador for Lululemon. She calls home the beautiful coast of Auckland where she lives with her husband and 3 young girls. |
